Lodging and Dining at Crab Apple

Overview

Crab Apple Whitewater in Maine is located on the banks of the Kennebec River. Our base includes a restaurant and pub which offer breakfast before raft trips and refreshments and great food after a day on the river. Our fully stocked store is open before and after all trips for browsing and shopping. A large gathering room with comfortable seating, board games, fireplace and free wireless internet access allows you to relax during your stay. On the lower level, a conference and banquet room is open for meetings and meals and also provides comfortable seating to view pictures and video after a run down the river. This level also includes shower and changing facilities and heated, indoor storage for wetsuits and life jackets.

We offer several distinct types of lodging for all kinds of needs - suites, cottages sleeping 4-10, lodge rooms sleeping 2-8, bunk style accommodations and campsites. The advantages of staying with us are many. Once you arrive, you don't have to get back in the car - a real vacation! A friendly greeting the night before your raft trip settles you into the Crab Apple family. A good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast are essential for your upcoming river adventure. Finally, the option to stay after the trip and enjoy our swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, sand volleyball court, pub, a short hike to the spectacular 92 foot Moxie Falls waterfall or an evening of Paintball makes for a great stay.

All of our facilities are non-smoking and no pets are allowed.

 

Breakfast and Dinner

FREE hot buffet breakfast included with each night's stay - eggs, sausage, home fries, pancakes, fruit, pastries, cereal, juice and coffee.
ADD DINNER to your night's stay at our restaurant - Crab Apple on the Kennebec. For $24 you get your choice of an entree, dessert and beverage. Includes tax and gratuity.

Moose Safari

If you've never seen our giant Maine moose up close, here's your chance. Join one of our guides as we search out these impressive animals in their native habitat May through August. Our guided moose safari leaves daily around dusk. Bring your camera! $40pp

The Lodge

Our Lodge has six private guest rooms and two Deluxe Units. Five guest rooms have two double beds, private bath and front deck. One room has a double bed and a set of bunks. The two spacious Deluxe Units are built for comfort and sleep 4-8 people. All of the lodge rooms have the feel of Maine's wilderness with natural wood interiors and a view of the Kennebec River. The lodge is also conveniently located adjacent to the swimming pool and outdoor hot tubs.

Suites

Our suites are beautiful! Each includes a wet bar, refrigerator, two person whirlpool jacuzzi tub and private deck. The furnishings are special - each room is different and all are elegant. No one else in New England rafting has anything to compare to these suites - see for yourself and enjoy the best. You deserve it!

Snow Cottage

Our Snow Cottage was designed with flexibility and convenience in mind for rafters. It is complete with kitchenette, full bath, cable TV, bedroom and living room. The cottage also gives you privacy as it is set away from other accommodations.

Spring Cottage

The Spring Cottage has an open floor plan well-suited for groups of friends or family. It is conveniently located adjacent to the pool and hot tub.

River Cottage

The River Cottage sits right on the Kennebec River. Spacious and elegant it has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room and is great for large groups.

Swimming Pool / Grounds

Our grounds include a great view overlooking the Kennebec River, an in-ground swimming pool, outdoor hot tub and a sand volleyball court. Adjacent to our suites a small brook - "Jennifer Creek" - flows over a series of small cascades you may walk along. Ninety-two foot Moxie Falls, the highest waterfall in Maine, is just two miles up the road.
